Tristan Tzara
Tristan Tzara was what some would call a very angry and intense poetic writer. Helping launch the DaDa movment, he wrote many of their manifestos and literature. Noted for his poetry preformed early at the Cabaret Voltaire, it is considered to be some of the first performance art. He was the first to have poems read simultaneously on stage. This idea was taken from methods used by Futurists. After becoming tired of nihilism, he became involved in many political and revolutionary movements as well as surrealism, both of which he believed brought him closer to his fellow man. Although according to most he was "one of the most fiery and enthusiastic little men you'd ever want to meet." [though it was said that this energy was indespensible to the DaDa movement]. Towards the end of his life, Tzara lost interest in DaDaism and it was reflected in his work. His poems became to have a bleak optimism to them, showing more in his post 30's work when his interest was fleeting.Tristan Tzara - http://www.spa.ex.ac.uk/drama/dada/page8.html
