The pattern assignment was actually kind of difficult for me. I focused too much on the individual shape rather than the over all pattern. I think my finals suffered a little bit because of that. My single panel alone was very interesting, evenly balanced and dynamic but when put into a repeated pattern, it lost some of this interest. When repeated the large patterns started looking very similar because of the very even balance through out the single panel. It was equally weighted on both sides and in retrospect if I were to go back and re-do the assignment I would make the positive/negative balance remain equal but have them each be heavier on each side of the individual panel as to lend itself more to the large pattern.
